Pro Football Focus named Xavier Restrepo WR to know for 2025 NFL Draft
After a record-setting 2023 season, Xavier Restrepo was named one of the "10 wide receivers to know ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft" by Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus. Restrepo set the Miami single-season record with 85 receptions for 1,092 yards and six touchdowns in 2023.
Restrepo joined Oregon State transfer running back Damien Martinez, who Chadwick named one of the "10 best running backs to know ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft" earlier this week. Restrepo earned first-team All-ACC for his performance during the 2023 season.
In his first full season as a starter, Restrepo was consistent other than a midseason slump. Restrepo had seven games over 90 yards receiving and five over 100. If he can avoid the slump in 2024, Restrepo can become the first Miami wide receiver to reach 100 receptions in a single season.
Restrepo needs 51 receptions to tie Mike Harley's Miami career record with 182 and 829 yards to tie Santana Moss for the career receiving yardage record. Restrepo currently has 131 career receptions for 1717 receiving yards and 10 TDs. Michael Irvin holds the Miami career receiving TD record with 26.
"XAVIER RESTREPO, MIAMI (FL)
- Max Chadwick, Pro Football Focus
Speaking of productive slot receivers, that’s precisely the way to describe Restrepo. His 1,074 receiving yards from that alignment were second among FBS receivers this past season to Malik Washington, who’s now with the Miami Dolphins. The junior finished with an 87.5 PFF grade this past season, seventh among Power Five receivers.
He’s just an average athlete who doesn’t offer much after the catch, averaging just 4.2 yards after the catch per reception this past season despite a low average depth of target. However, he understands how to get open and be a reliable security blanket for his quarterback."
Restrepo was second in the ACC in receiving overall in 2023 behind Washington. Washington had 110 receptions for 1,426 and nine TDs with Virginia in 2023. Pro Football Focus has Restrepo 52nd on their 2025 NFL Draft Big Board. That would project him as a late second-round pick,
Miami signed Restrepo as the 623rd-ranked prospect, 36th WR and 84th player in Florida out of Deerfield Beach in the 2020 class. Through hard work, Restrepo has vaulted into one of the best WRs nationally entering his final season. Restrepo could be the highest-drafted Miami WR since Philip Dorsett went in the first round in 2015.
