Three-star tackle Jaden Wilkerson became the third offensive lineman to commit to the Miami football program on Wednesday night. Wilkerson was preceded by offensive tackle Demetrius Campbell who committed on Tuesday and interior lineman Taykaylen Muex.

Wilkerson is the 1,230 prospect, 96th OT and 168th player in Florida out of Orlando Edgewater in the 2025 class. Miami out-recruited Central Florida, Rutgers and Syracuse for a commitment from Wilkerson. Miami hosted Wilkerson for an official visit the weekend of May 31. Those were followed by visits to Syracuse and Rutgers.

Wilkerson is the ninth player committed to the 2025 Miami class and the seventh on offense. Campbell and Wilkerson could start a run of commitments for Miami. Steve Wiltfong of On3 projected cornerback Chris Ewald, defensive lineman Derry Norris, Wilkerson and safety Amari Wallace to Miami on Wednesday.

The combination of Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is ultimately why Wilkerson chose the Hurricanes per Brian Dohn of 247Sports. At 6'6 and 330 pounds, Wilkerson has the ideal frame to play OT at the next level.

Wilkerson will have to become leaner in college before he is ready to make an impact. The 82-inch wing span Wilkerson has is ideal for an OT at 6'6. Wilkerson will have to become a more "technically refined blocker." per Andrew Ivins of 247Sports.

Wilkerson told Rivals National Recruiting Analyst John Garcia he committed to Miami a few weeks ago, but kept it silent."I've gotten compared to (Detroit Lions OT and former first-round pick) Penei Sewell because of my athleticism and how I move." Wilkerson told Garcia.

Cristobal and Mirabal coached Sewell at Oregon. Wilkerson told Garcia the determination if he will play inside or outside on the OL would occur when he arrives at Miami. Dohn reported that development was the focal point of the discussions with Wilkerson in his recruitment. Wilkerson could be a player to watch potentially move up in the 2025 class rankings.
