Sean Taylor's daughter Jackie will wear number 21 with UNC Volleyball
Jackie Taylor the daughter of legendary late Miami safety Sean Taylor will wear number 21 to honor the number her father wore with Washington in the NFL. Sean Taylor wore number 26 at Miami. Jackie Taylor played volleyball at Gulliver Prep where he father played football.
The North Carolina volleyball team reported that Jackie will honor Sean in a post to X on Thursday. Jackie was only 18 months old when Sean was killed during a home invasion in 2007. Per People magazine Taylor is the third-ranked volleyball recruit in Florida in the 2024 class.
Jack Baer of Yahoo Sports reported that Jackie Taylor wore one and 21 at Gulliver. Sean Taylor wore number one during his legendary Gulliver career. Taylor had 418 kills, a 51.2 kill percentage, a .400 hitting percentage, a 71.8 percent serving percentage and 108 blocks.
North Carolina finished 13-14 overall in 2023, 7-11 in the ACC, 7-6 at home. 5-7 away and 1-1 on neutral courts. The 2024 schedule has not been released. Miami beat North Carolina 3-1 in Coral Gables during the 2023. season. Miami finished 18-12 overall, 10-8 in the ACC and advanced to the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Sean Taylor was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. Taylor is fifth in Miami history with 14 career interceptions and is tied with Bennie Blades with 10 interceptions for a single season. Taylor also left Miami second in career interception return yards with 306 and with three interceptions returned for touchdowns.
During Miami's 2001 BCS national champion season Taylor was one of four freshmen who played. Taylor won the 2003 Jack Tatum Trophy, the 2003 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, was a Unanimous All-American and First-team All-Big East in 2003 and Second-team All-Big East in 2002.
