The 5 best quarterbacks in Miami Hurricanes football history
By Sam Fariss
Vinny Testaverde studied under Bernie Kosar and it paid off.
After redshirting and backing up Kosar for his first three seasons at Miami, Testaverde became the starting quarterback for the Canes in 1985.
In his first season as a starter, Testaverde had 3,238 passing yards for 21 touchdowns. He was already further cementing Miami as Quarterback U.
Testaverde's senior season locked him in as one of the greatest Miami quarterbacks of all time.
Testaverde earned 2,557 passing yards for an even more astonishing 26 touchdowns in his final year with the Canes. He won the Davey O'Brien Award, the Maxwell Award, the Sammy Baugh Trophy, and the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
Oh, and yes, he won the Heisman Trophy.
