Top QB, RB and WR for each of Miami's 2024 non-conference opponents
Florida A&M
Junior Muratovic and former Central Michigan and Florida Atlantic quarterback Daniel Richardson are expected to compete to be the starting signal caller for Florida A&M. Muratovic attempted only 24 passes last season for 138 yards without a TD. Richardson has 1,059 career attempts for 7.392 yards, 59 TDs and 23 interceptions.
Bo Summersett is the RB to watch for FAMU per Gerald Thomas of the Tallahassee Democrat. Summersett was a three-star prospect in the 2023 class. Another FAMU RB to watch is Thad Franklin who played for Miami in 2021 and 2022. Summerset did not have any carries last season and Franklin only totaled 49 yards.
Thomas projects Jamari Gassett to take the next step at WR for FAMU in 2023. Gassett had 24 receptions for 320 yards and three TDs in 2024 playing behind all SWAC WRs Marcus Riley and Jah'Mareah Sheread in 2023. Miami was 55th nationally in 2023 allowing 216.0 passing YPG.
Ball State
Kadin Semonza who shared QB with two other players in 2023 is the projected starter for Ball State in 2024. Semonza completed 61.0 percent of his attempts in 2023 for 480 yards, three TDs and five interceptions. Ball State finished 128th nationally in 2023 averaging an anemic 136.6 passing yards per game,
Charlie Spegal returns as the projected starting RB for Ball State in 2024. Spegal had 15 carries for 71 yards and a TD in 2023. Ball State was better on the ground in 2023. The Cardinals were 53rd averaging 171.5 rushing yards per game last season. Ball State lost most of its top rushers from their 2023 roster.
Ball State returns leading receiver Qian Magwood in 2024. Magwood led Ball State with 41 receptions and 358 receiving yards in 2023 with one TD. Ball State had only nine TD passes during the 2023 season. Expect Miami to stack the box versus Ball State and make them pass.
