Video from Miami football fans painting iconic Florida 34th street wall
On Friday, Beau Bradbury, an artist from Panama City, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of Miami fans painting the iconic 34th Street wall in Gainesville. The "1,120-foot graffiti wall has new graffiti added every day." per VisitGainesville.com.
Miami fans pained the 34th Street wall under the darkness of night akin to the Baltimore Colts leaving Indianapolis in Mayflower trucks on March 28, 1984. The 34th Street Wall was also painted by Miami fans ahead of the game with Florida in 2019. Miami fans painted Gators Suck before the 2019 game with the U logo in suck.
VisitGainesville.Com stated that the 34th Street Wall has 250 layers of paint in some sections. The 34th Street Wall was originally built as a retaining wall by the Florida Department of Transportation when 34th Street was widened to four lanes in the late 1970s to prevent erosion.
Bradbury perfectly trolled the Florida who painted over the Drain the Swamp with a singular statement saying bait. Bradbury asked Florida fans "That's the best you got @FloridaGators." Bradbury is a Miami fan with 4,890 followers on X as of early Friday evening.
Per Benjamin Henderson of Canes Warning's partner site Hail, Florida Hail "The wall is most noted as a memorial for Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Christa Hoyt, Tracy Paules, and Manuel Taboada. The five were victims of a serial killer in 1990." Per Henderson and multiple reports the memorial part of the wall was not painted over.
Miami fans taking care to not paint over the memorial part of the wall as shown above in the X post from Bradbury where is says in red and black "Remember 1990." Miami and Florida will kick off at 3:30 PM Eastern Time on ABC. Expect the wall to be referenced during the telecast of the Hurricanes and Gators.
