With the 2023 season concluding on Monday night in Houston, most of the big college football sites have their Way Too Early 2024 Top 25 rankings out. Where the Miami football program ranks depends on the website. Several sites have Miami inside their top 25 and others do not.

Bleacher Report, On3 and 247 Sports are the biggest sites that named Miami to their Way Too Early 2024 Top 25. Athlon Sports has Miami 26th on the Way Too Early Top 25. Other big sites like CBS Sports, ESPN and Pro Football Focus did not have Miami ranked in the 2024 Way Too Early Top 25.

Bleacher Report ranks Miami 25th in their Way Too Early Top 25. Bleacher Report gave an overview of their rankings and looked at the quarterback transfers. A name to watch for Miami is James Madison QB Jordan McCloud. Oklahoma State and Washington State are the other potential programs that could add McCloud per Bleacher Report.

Miami is 21st in the On3 rankings. On3 summarized the top 10 teams in their rankings. Florida State is the highest-ranked ACC team in the On3 rankings. Clemson is 18th in the On3 rankings and Louisville is 19th. The On3 rankings were posted last week before the National Championship game was played on Monday.

The 247Sports rankings were based on a poll among five of their writers. Twenty-five points were given for first place, 24 four for second, etc., down to one for teams ranked 25th. Miami received its highest ranking in the 247 Sports poll at 19th. Brad Crawford, one of the five writers voting, summarized Miami.

"19. MIAMI HURRICANES (31)
One voter is extremely high on the Hurricanes at No. 13 overall on his ballot, while another expert left Miami out of the top 25 completely. Mario Cristobal needs to show forward momentum in Year 3 at the program after getting to bowl season and losing to Rutgers to cap an up and down 2023 campaign. Miami lost starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to the transfer portal and are still in search of a player to add to its room at the position to pair with Jacurri Brown in a competition.

The 247Sports Way Too Early Top 25 was published on Monday night during the National Championship game. The article was likely written before Albany transfer Reese Poffenbarger announced he was transfering to Miami. Crawford left out Emory Williams in the potential QB competition for Miami in 2024.

Athlon Sports ranked the top 31 teams and added another eight. Each of the 39 teams were summarized by Steve Lassan of Athlon. The consensus on Miami entering the 2024 season is that if the Hurricanes can upgrade with an experienced starting QB, they will rise in the preseason rankings.

"The Next Six, 26. Miami
If the 'Canes can find a quarterback to work behind a standout offensive line, then coach Mario Cristobal's team should be able to push for a finish in the top 25. Receiver Xavier Restrepo opted to return instead of declare for the NFL Draft, and the defense is anchored by rising star end Rueben Bain and linebacker Francisco Mauigoa."

The winter transfer portal is closed, but there are several transfers who have not chosen their next school. That includes McCloud. A second transfer window from April 16 through 30 opens after spring practice concludes. The Way Too Early Top 25s could shuffle in the spring depending on new transfers.
