Where national CFB writer ranks Cam Ward among Top 25 QBs nationally
Cameron Ward has earned a spot on another list of the best quarterbacks in college football. Brad Crawford of 247Sports included Ward in his list “Ranking college football's top 25 quarterbacks in 2024.” Crawford ranks ward ninth. Only Dillon Gabriel who transferred from Oklahoma to Oregon is ahead of Ward. Like Ward, Gabriel is with his third program. Gabriel was at Central Florida before Oklahoma. Ward has played at FCS Incarnate Word in San Antonio and Washington State.
The Miami offense should be familiar to Ward. Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson runs a modified version of the air raid. Dawson emphasizes the run more than the late Mike Leach, who made the Air Raid famous at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State.
Ward will play behind three returning starters on the offensive line and with Miami returning its top two receivers and rushers from 2023. Ward and wide receiver Xavier Restrepo can be All-Americans in 2024.

He's an Air Raid, but that's often a knock on quarterbacks who are only spread-friendly passers. Ward would've been an early round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft had he come out, so the goal here is to solidify Day 1 billing next spring with a stellar campaign"
This is a pivotal season for Ward in his last year of college football. Ward needs more consistency to show scouts he’s a first-round quality QB. In 2023, Ward had three games over 400 yards passing and two under 200. With more playmakers around him and behind a better offensive line, Ward should play more consistently in 2024.

With the addition of Ward, the consensus from the Miami fan base is probably 10 wins. Ward playing up to his preseason accolades will be critical for Miami in 2024.
