Xavier Restrepo ranked in latest top 10 2024 WR rankings
Xavier Restrepo continued his offseason in the "College football rankings: Luther Burden leads Top 25 wide receivers entering 2024 season."Restrepo has been named to multiple lists of the best WRs entering the 2024 season.
Restrepo set the Miami single-season reception record in 2023. Entering the 2024 season, Restrepo needs 53 receptions and 831 receiving yards to set Miami's career record. If Restrepo has another big season, he should reach those numbers between mid-October and early November.
Restrepo is the highest-ranked ACC WR on the list and is third among players outside of the Big 10 or SEC. Travis Hunter of Colorado, who is second, and Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona, who is second, are the only WRs outside of the Big 10 and SEC ranked higher than Restrepo entering the 2024 season.
After earning first-team All-ACC in 2023, Restrepo has an opportunity to challenge for first-team All-American in 2024. Expect Restrepo to improve his production with Miami projected to have more consistent play at QB in 2024. Restrepo was previously named to ESPN's top 10 2024 WRs.
"7. XAVIER RESTREPO, MIAMI
-Β Brad Crawford, 247Sports
There's not going to be a receiver in the ACC who benefits more from an offseason acquisition at quarterback than Xavier Restrepo, who comes off his best season as (a) collegian with the Hurricanes. Restrepo dwarfed his previous career numbers with 85 catches for 1,092 yards and six scores, managing only the sixth 1,000-yard season by a pass-catcher in program history. Not only will his targets increase in this Air Raid scheme with Washington State's Cameron Ward penciled in as Miami's new starter at quarterback, but he should get more looks as a field-stretcher, too"
Ward threw for 3,736 yards in 12 games in 2023. Miami was 37th nationally in 2023 with 3,354 passing yards. Restrepo should be more consistent this season. In 2023 Restrepo had a three-game stretch with six receptions for 83 yards. That included no receptions in Miami's 27-20 loss at Florida State.
Jacolby George should have a chance to join Restrepo on the list of top 25 WRs. George finished 55th nationally with 817 receiving yards in 2023 and 72nd with 55 receptions. After a breakout 2023 season, George has the potential to improve his production. George and Restrepo should be one of the best WR duos in 2024.
