Miami will begin the second half of the 2024 season with its most difficult game this year at Louisville. Miami has home games versus Florida State, Duke and Wake Forest and plays at Georgia Tech and Syracuse in addition to the road game at Louisville this week.

Louisville is not ranked in the traditional polls but is 15th in the ESPN Football Power Index. Louisville lost at Notre Dame and to SMU, which is currently one of four teams that have not lost an ACC game, along with Clemson, Miami, and Pittsburgh. Their win last week at Virginia broke a two-game losing streak for Louisville.

Miami is currently 10th in the FPI. Clemson is 11th, and SMU is 19th, giving the ACC four teams in the top 20. After Louisville, the highest remaining team on the 2024 Miami schedule is Georgia Tech, which is 43rd in the FPI. Miami has the 71st ranked strength of schedule per the FPI and 43rd remaining SOS.

Miami leads the ACC averaging 47.7 points per game, 583.8 total yards per game and allowing 282.5 yards per game. Their ACC games versus California and Virginia Tech have been a bigger challenge. Miami beat Virginia Tech 38-24 and California 39-38 after rallying from a 35-10 deficit.

Louisville is fifth permitting 19.7 PPG and Georgia Tech sixth at 21.4 PPG. Miami has to earn its way into the ACC Championship Game.
