Miami has been gaining momentum with Eli Woodard for weeks and the Hurricanes got another positive sign this weekend that the Rivals300 wide receiver is at least enjoying the attention.
Woodard, a four-star wide receiver from Chaparral High School in Temecula, Calif., was spotted at the OT7 Finals wearing Miami gloves and throwing up The U.

Woodard is one of the top receivers left on Miami's board. On3/Rivals lists him as the No. 156 overall prospect, No. 24 wide receiver and No. 16 player in California in the Rivals Industry Ranking. Rivals' in-house ranking has him No. 161 nationally, No. 27 at wide receiver and No. 13 in California.
Woodard was previously committed to USC before reopening his recruitment and setting an official visit to Miami. Miami then strengthened its position with Woodard following an impressive official visit to Coral Gables.
The On3/Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine now gives Miami the edge at 97.4%, with USC second at 1%.
Woodard logged 51 receptions for 1,070 yards and 17 touchdowns during his junior season at Chaparral. He averaged 21.0 yards per catch and 89.2 receiving yards per game. He also had 32 tackles, seven pass breakups and one interception on defense.
The Hurricanes already have five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear committed and adding Woodard would give Miami another explosive playmaker.
Wide receivers committed in Miami's 2026 class
- Soumourian Wingo, No. 22 nationally
- Milan Parris, No. 176 nationally
- Vance Spafford, not nationally ranked by Rivals. No. 45 wide receiver
- Tyran Evans, not nationally ranked by Rivals. No. 63 wide receiver
The path to immediate snaps will not be easy with veterans and young returners already on the roster, but the spring gave Miami an early look at one of the deepest freshman receiver groups Mario Cristobal has signed.
Miami's 2026 wide receiver signees got their first real look in a crowded room this spring, with Milan Parris generating the most buzz.
