Pro Football Focus projects four players from Miami to be selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. That would be the most from Miami since the record-setting 2004 class had six players selected in the first round. Alabama tied the Miami record with six first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Focus projects Miami edge rusher Rueben Bain to be selected with the second overall pick by the New York Jets. Offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa is projected third overall by the Arizona Cardinals, followed by edge rusher Akeheem Mesidor 17th to the Detroit Lions and cornerback Keionte Scott 29th to the Los Angeles Rams.

Bain would be the first defensive lineman and Mauigoa the first offensive lineman selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. With Indiana quarterback Francisco Mendoza projected to be selected first overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, the top two selections would be Miami natives.

The 2026 NFL Draft will be the first time Miami has had multiple selections in the first round since Jaelan Phillips was selected 18th overall by the Dolphins and Gregory Rousseau went 30th to the Buffalo Bills in 2021.

The highest pair of Miami draftees

If Bain and Mauigoa are drafted as high as they are projected to be selected, they would be the highest Miami teammates ever taken in the first round of the same NFL Draft. The late Sean Taylor was the fifth pick of the 2004 NFL Draft by Washington and Kellen Winslow II went to Cleveland with the sixth pick that year.

As long as Mario Cristobal is the Miami head coach, the Hurricanes should continue to average multiple first-round picks in the future. The NFL Mock Draft Database projects cornerback O.J. Frederique and defensive tackle Justin Scott in the first round in 2027, with edge rusher Damon Wilson 37th overall.
