Anchored by Francis Mauigoa at left tackle, TCU transfer James Brockermeyer at center and Anez Cooper at right guard, Pro Football Focus ranks the 2025 Miami offensive line eighth nationally. Left guard Matthew McCoy, Cooper and Mauigoa are returning starters for Miami in 2025.

Miami tied for 56th nationally, allowing 1.7 sacks per game in 2024, and was sixth, averaging 5.67 yards per carry. With a less mobile Carson Beck replacing Cam Ward at quarterback in 2025, Miami has to be better in pass protection.

Brockermeyer replaces Zach Carpenter at center and Miami lost versatile four-year starterJalen Rivers, who was primarily the left tackle in 2024. Markel Bell, who started five games at left tackle for Miami in 2024, will replace Rivers as the starter in 2025.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal have been elite at recruiting up front since being hired in 2021. Cristobal and Mirabal have utilized the transfer portal to bring in starting centers. Matt Lee preceded Carpenter in 2023.

"8. Miami (FL)
Francis Mauigoa is my No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation and was the only tackle in the FBS last year with two or fewer sacks/hits allowed on 500-plus pass-blocking snaps. James Brockermeyer transferred in from TCU and was third among Big 12 centers with a 71.5 PFF grade in 2024. Anez Cooper is starting at right guard for the Hurricanes for the third-straight season and has a 70.8 pass-blocking grade since 2023. "

Mauigoa is ninth on the Pro Football Focus 2026 NFL Draft big board. After playing in five games in three seasons at Alabama, Brockermeyer started 12 for TCU in 2024. Cooper has played in 36 games with 30 starts in three seasons with Miami.

McCoy has 27 career games with 12 starts, all in 2025, to provide Miami with another experienced offensive lineman. Redshirt senior Ryan Rodriguez provides experience and stability for Miami on the OL. Some projections have McCoy and Rodriguez competing to be the starting RG.

Former five-star offensive tackle Samson Okunlola has had injuries limit his playing time during his three seasons with Miami. Mauigoa and Okunlola signed with Miami in the 2023 class as five-star prospects. Miami will have one of the most experienced OL nationally in 2025.
