Pro Football Hall of Fame and Super Bowl-winning quarterback Kurt Warner praised Miami signal caller Carson as a big reason why the Hurricanes have started 5-1. Warner made the comments after Beck threw four interceptions as Miami lost 24-21 to Louisville on Friday night.
Warner acknowledged Beck cost Miami the game against Louisville, but that he is also a big reason why Miami is 5-1. The comments continued with Warner stating Beck has completed over 70 percent of his pass attempts and had 11 TDs and three interceptions entering the game on Friday.
Warner closed by stating it was one game, a tough game that we should remind ourselves what Beck has been doing all season including making some clutch plays to secure some big wins. Beck had four TDs without an interception in Miami's previous game against Florida State.
Beck entered Saturday fourth nationally, completing 73.0 percent of his pass attempts for 1,484 yards, 11 TD, seven interceptions and a 157.44 passer rating. The four interceptions Beck threw against Louisville was the second multi-interception game he had in 2025.
Today’s headline in college fball is sure to be: Carson Beck’s 4 INTs costs MIA 1st loss of season, how about I write the 2nd line… BUT he’s also a big reason they are 5-1… completing over 70% of his passes (one of top in country)… coming into game had 11 TDs to just 3 INTs,…

Beck completed 23 passes in 28 attempts for 340 yards, three TDs and two interceptions as Miami defeated South Florida 49-12 on September 13. The other interception thrown by Beck was in a 26-7 Miami win over Florida on September 20.
When a fan responded to Warner by stating a terrible pass by Beck, he replied that the degree of difficulty when you do not have balance makes the QB have to be more perfect on each play, with a perfect read, perfect timing and a perfect throw.
Miami ran 24 times for 63 yards in the loss to Louisville. Florida State held Miami to 97 rushing yards on 32 attempts in a 28-22 loss on September 27. Miami needs to improve its rushing offense to take pressure off Beck and, as Warner said, not force him to be perfect.
Miami plays the bottom four ACC teams in pass defense in its next four games. That starts with Stanford next week who is 16th in the ACC, allowing 303.7 passing yards per game. The Cardinal is sixth in the ACC in run defense. If Miami cannot improve the run, opponents can force Beck to beat them.
