The Miami Hurricanes have certainly struggled at times this season, first losing to an unranked Louisville team to suffer their first loss of the season, then dropping a game against an unranked SMU team. Quarterback Carson Beck certainly wasn't at his best in either of those games, but he has been there at other times when the Hurricanes needed him most.

Beck is no longer really in the Heisman conversation, but he is still playing at a solid level for Miami; however, apparently, Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm doesn't think so. In his post-game press conference after the Cardinals lost to Cal, Brohm took an unnecessary shot at Beck, one that some might have overlooked.

Jeff Brohm should worry more about the loss to Cal than taking a shot at Carson Beck

Louisville lost a tough close game ot Cal, a team that was 5-4 heading into the game. The Cardinals needed a big win to prove to the committee that they belong in the College Football Playoff. Instead, they suffered their second loss of the season and the committee dinged them for it.

After the game, it was clear that Brohm was not happy with the performance his team had on the field, but while talking about what went wrong, Brohm took a shot at Miami quarterback Carson Beck that was unwarranted.

"We finally faced a good throwing quarterback, which I knew we would," Brohm said.

Beck might have had his struggles against the Cardinals, but to fully say Louisville finally faced a good throwing quarterback is not just throwing shade at Beck, but at every other quarterback they have faced.

Miami needed a better game out of Beck when facing Louisville, and four interceptions were not that, but the Hurricanes quarterback has still thrown for 2,194 passing yards and 15 touchdowns with a 72.7% completion rate.

To flat-out disregard that Beck is a good passing quarterback is a shot that Brohm might regret later, especially if these two teams find a way to meet in the ACC Championship.
