If you think of Miami bowl history, you probably think Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State or Ohio State. But the full postseason record is a lot stranger than that.

Miami's bowl history includes games that nobody would ever know about, unless they came across a list like this... so, here you go.

Manhattan, Palm Festival, 1933

Miami beat Manhattan 7-0 in the 1933 Palm Festival, the first version of what later became the Orange Bowl.

Duquesne, Palm Festival, 1934

Miami came right back to the Palm Festival the next year and lost 33-7 to Duquesne. Unlike Manhattan, Duquesne still fields a football team today, now at the FCS level, but it is still an odd name to see go against Miami. The Palm Festival existed to bring tourists to Miami during the Depression, so the whole setup is different from what fans think of as bowl season now.

Bucknell, Orange Bowl, 1935

Bucknell beat Miami 26-0 on Jan. 1, 1935, piled up 278 yards, held the Hurricanes to 28 total yards and left with the first Orange Bowl win in history. Today Bucknell football lives in the Patriot League, far away from the Hurricanes.

Holy Cross, Orange Bowl, 1946

Holy Cross made the 1946 Orange Bowl, and Miami beat them 13-6 in one of the wildest finishes in school bowl history. Holy Cross was driving late in a 6-6 game when Al Hudson intercepted a pass and returned it 89 yards for the winning touchdown as time expired. That remains Holy Cross' only bowl appearance.

Nebraska, Gotham Bowl, 1962

Nebraska is the opposite of strange in Miami bowl history. The schools have met over and over on giant stages. But, the 1962 Gotham Bowl was weird enough to make the list anyway.

Nebraska beat Miami 36-34 in the second and final Gotham Bowl at Yankee Stadium, in freezing weather, before an announced crowd of just 6,166. It was a great game and a bizarre setting.

Miami and Nebraska later turned into one of college football's great bowl pairings. The first edition happened in a now-defunct bowl in New York in front of a tiny crowd.

Nevada, MPC Computers Bowl, 2006

A 6-6 Miami team spent New Year's Eve in Boise playing Nevada in a bowl named after a computer company. The Hurricanes won 21-20, but almost every part of the setup felt off-brand for Miami. Miami has played in title games, Orange Bowls, Sugar Bowls, Fiesta Bowls and Rose Bowls. It has also played in the MPC Computers Bowl.
