Tampa Bay went back to Miami on Saturday and may have found one of its more interesting value picks of the draft. The Buccaneers selected Hurricanes defensive back Keionte Scott with the No. 116 overall pick in the fourth round, giving Todd Bowles another versatile piece for a secondary that had room for more depth and more playmaking.
After already adding edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. in the first round, Tampa Bay now has a second Miami defender headed to its roster.
An elite playmaker, leader, and person.

Keionte Scott gives Buccaneers another disruptive Miami defender
Scott put up 64 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions returned for touchdowns, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 2025. He earned second-team All-ACC honors, was a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, and started all 13 games in which he played.
Scott had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery against Florida State, posted nine tackles, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble against Louisville, recorded eight tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery at SMU, and had a pick-six against Syracuse before a foot injury sidelined him for the final three regular-season games. He returned for the playoff run and took a 72-yard interception back for a touchdown against Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, a performance that earned him Miami's defensive MVP honors for the game.
Before Miami, Scott played at Snow College and then Auburn, where he made 23 starts in 33 games for the Tigers.
The Buccaneers took Bain at No. 15, linebacker Josiah Trotter at No. 46, receiver Ted Hurst at No. 84, then Scott at No. 116 after trading down on Friday and adding extra capital.
Canes fans should be interested to see how Bain and Scott impact the Bucs this season. If both are successful, that will be a major plus for the Miami program going forward.
