The Titans released former Miami receiver K.J. Osborn on Sunday when they set their 53-man roster.
Tennessee signed him in April to a one-year deal as veteran depth behind Calvin Ridley, Wan'Dale Robinson, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike. He was in the same cut group as Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, Bryce Oliver, Mason Kinsey and several other receivers. Osborn last played a regular-season snap in 2024 and he did not appear in a game for the Titans.

Minnesota drafted him in the fifth round, 176th overall, in 2020 after one season at Miami. With the Vikings from 2020 through 2023 he caught 158 passes for 1,845 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He later signed with New England in 2024, was waived in December, claimed by Washington and finished that year with seven catches for 57 yards and one touchdown in eight combined games. The Commanders cut him last summer and he spent time on Atlanta's practice squad late in 2025.
He is 29 years old and has enough accrued seasons that he does not have to pass through waivers. Another team can sign him immediately. Practice-squad veteran exemptions are the more realistic path.
Osborn transferred from Buffalo after a 2018 season of 53 catches, 892 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2019 he led the Hurricanes with 50 receptions for 547 yards and five touchdowns, while adding 16 punt returns for 255 yards. He finished with 1,018 all-purpose yards.
Xavier Restrepo, another former Hurricane and current fan favorite in Tennessee, made the initial 53-man roster. So as one former Miami Hurricane leaves the team, another one stays with the squad and continues to build on his chemistry with former Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward. It's a bittersweet story for Canes fans following the alumni in the NFL.
