Miami All-Time leading receiver, Xavier Restrepo, was cut by the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Restrepo will be a candidate for Tennessee's practice squad. Restrepo signed with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent.

Tennessee cutting Restrepo ends his short-lived reunion with Cam Ward, the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by Tennessee. Restrepo will have an opportunity to sign with another NFL team before potentially being added to the Tennessee practice squad.

Restrepo had three receptions for 26 yards in three Tennessee preseason games. Restrepo had his first two NFL preseasons receptions for 26 yards in the second preseason game for Tennessee versus the Atlanta Falcons and added one reception for eight yards on Friday against the Minnestoa Vikings.

Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, fourth-round picks of Tennessee in the 2025 NFL Draft, made the 53-man roster ahead of Restrepo at wide receiver. Ayomanor had five receptions for 72 yards and Dike had two catches for seven yards. NFL teams have to get down to 53 players by 4 PM Eastern Daylight Time on Tuesday.

In addition to Ayomanor and Dike, Tennessee has veterans Van Jefferson, Tyler Lockett and Calvin Ridley on the roster at WR. Ridley led Tennessee with 64 receptions for 1,017 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2024. Jefferson and Lockett signed one-year contracts with Tennessee during the 2025 offseason.

At 5'10 and 202 pounds, Restrepo is slightly undersized. A 4.83 40-yard dash at Miami's Pro Day created concerns about Restrepo's long speed. Restrepo is the All-Time Miami leader with 200 receptions and 2,844 yards. Restrepo also holds two of the top four seasons for receptions in Miami history.

In 2023, Restrepo set the Miami single-season record with 85 receptions and followed that up with 60 catches in 2024 which is fourth in Hurricanes' history. Restrepo did not make an impact on special teams with Tennessee, which likely impacted the Titans' decision to cut him.
