On a rain-soaked field at Hard Rock Stadium, Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators squared off primetime in front of a national audience. On the Hurricanes' first offensive drive, Carson Beck and the offense matriculated the ball right down-the-field, for a touchdown. Overall, the game was not an all-out aerial battle.

By halftime, the Miami Hurricanes would enjoy a 13-0 lead. In the third quarter, the Florida Gators dominated the period and looked as though they would make the game interesting. On the other hand, there were times that the offensive line protection was not as solid compared to previous contests. What The Canes had going for them throughout the whole game was a bruising and punishing rushing attack.

Once again, the Hurricanes defense set the tone throughout the game's entirety. The unit produced relentless pressure on Florida quarterback, DJ Lagway. But in the third quarter, the Florida Gators, ran runs outside the edge, instead of striving to run inside and right at the Miami defense, which led to the Canes defensive unit becoming unbalanced for the majority of the opening quarter of the second half. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Miami Hurricanes held a precarious lead, before reeling off thirteen unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

By game's end, the Hurricanes would come out on top, winning by a score of 26-7. From beginning to end, the Canes held a wall-to-wall lead that was never relinquished. Offensively, Carson Beck was not his usual efficient self. Thanks to an NFL-caliber offensive line, the Hurricanes were able to physically have their way with the Florida Gator's defensive front seven by focusing on the running game.

Overall, did the Miami Hurricanes play a complete game on all three phases? The coaching staff would concur that the team must continue to improve and make adjustments. For the Miami Hurricanes, the team has earned a well-deserved bye. Next up, is the arch enemy, Florida State Seminoles, which will become another test and answer, as to whether the Miami Hurricanes program have finally made a full return back to the being a well-tuned, dominant program.
