The 2025 version of the Miami Hurricanes is unrecognizable. They are not unrecognizable in the sense that the team as a whole is extremely physical. Football is a physical sport, but there are some programs who go beyond the physical threshold of physicality, within the rules.
It is quite amazing to witness the current Hurricanes play such a physical brand of football. This is not to state that the Canes cannot win with finesse. Play-makers, such as talented wide-outs, Malachi Toney and C. J. Daniels can stretch the field when needed, but the Hurricanes ground attack has proven to "set-the-tone" for the entire team.
In the 2025 college football campaign, the majority of Hurricanes opponents have been unable to parallel the physical play of the Miami Hurricanes. After only five years of being the head man of the Miami Hurricanes football program, Coach Mario Cristobal has definitely molded the Canes into a "smash-mouthed", physically powerful team. Running backs, Mark Fletcher and CharMar Brown are the type of bruising backs that do not back down from opposing defenders.
Typically, it takes more than one defender to bring either one of these physical runners down to the ground. The Hurricanes offensive lineman is one of the most cohesive and physical lines in all of the land. When an entire team is physical, most opponents become aware that the game will not become handed to them. In order to win against a physical team, more energy will be required to match the physical team's intensity.
A prerequisite on the road to the College Football playoffs is the physical play of a program. After witnessing the Miami Hurricanes first five contests, the team thus far, is passing one of the requirements needed to become a national title contender. In the upcoming slate of ACC matchups, the Miami Hurricanes must commence to practice that physical brand of football in order to become ready for the potential challenges ahead.
