Miami punter Dylan Joyce was named to the Ray Guy Award "Ray's 8" for Week 3 after a field-position clinic in the Hurricanes' 49–12 win over USF. The Augusta Sports Council announced the honor Monday, recognizing eight of the nation’s top weekly punting performances.

Joyce, a junior from Kyabram, Australia, punted three times for 137 yards, averaging 45.7 yards with a long of 51 and no touchbacks. Two of his punts were downed inside the 20, including one inside the 10. His averages helped tilt the field in a game Miami controlled from start to finish.

The weekly "Ray's 8" is part of the selection process for the Ray Guy Award, which honors the nation's best FBS punter. The award places particular emphasis on net punting average, percentage of punts inside the 20-yard line and percentage of punts not returned. From the weekly "Ray's 8," a national "Punter of the Week" is chosen. Luke Freer of Air Force was named the Punter of the Week for this past slate of games.

Across Miami's first three games, Joyce logged eight total punts with a season long of 51. For his Miami career entering 2025, Joyce averaged 42.5 yards on 25 punts in 2024 with 11 downed inside the 20.

Miami returns to action Saturday, Sept. 20, against Florida at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on ABC, with ESPN's "College GameDay" in town earlier that morning. Miami is 3-0 entering the contest and Florida is sitting at 1-2. The Canes are sitting at No. 4 in the most recent Top 25 from the AP Poll.
