For the first time all season, the Miami Hurricanes are playing a game in the early window, which means that once the new No. 1 team in the country is done with Pitt, there's a full day of games left to keep us entertained.
This week's watch list has a few more games to keep an eye on as all eyes begin to turn toward the CFP and those initial rankings that are coming on the first Tuesday in November:
Miami fans should check out these 3 ACC games
Duke at Virginia, Friday (7 p.m.; ESPN)
The rematch of the 2025 ADC Championship Game is a bit of a bust because neither team is going to get close to Charlotte this season unless they qualify for the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Duke is an upcoming game on the Hurricanes schedule and Nate Sheppard is a heck of a player, so those are the main reasons to tune in.
Virginia Tech at Clemson, Saturday (7 p.m.; ESPN)
Time to see how real James Franklin's Hokies are, because this is a winnable game on the road against a Clemson team that's decent at times, but has no real explosive threats on offense. Virginia Tech might be a year away from being a real contender, but a win over the Tigers at Death Valley would confirm that the Hokies are on the right track.
Syracuse at North Carolina, Saturday (7:30 p.m.; ACCN)
Miami will be heading to Chapel Hill on Halloween and there's still a lot to know about the Tar Heels. Bill Belichick's crew will be 5-2 with a win Saturday, and they are just good enough to be a pain for Miami's offense that has some questions that still need to be answered. North Carolina deserves a close look because the Tar Heels might be more dangerous than they appear.
There are a handful of national games that are worth watching
No. 18 LSU at Auburn (Noon; ABC)
No. 11 Tennessee at South Carolina (3:30 p.m.; ESPN)
No. 15 Iowa at Minnesota (3:30 p.m.; FS1)
No. 16 USC at Wisconsin (7:30 p.m.; NBC)
There are quite a few CFP bubble teams hitting the road this weekend, so it made sense to group all of these games together. Take a close look at those four ranked teams because at least one of them is taking a loss Saturday. If you had to ask for my opinion, I think Tennessee is ripe for a letdown coming off of that emotional win against Alabama.
I put the Iowa-Minnesota game on here because this game is for Floyd of Rosedale, a trophy of a pig. There's nothing that says more about the joys of college football than a bunch of high-level athletes battling for a trophy of a pig.
No. 2 BYU at UCF (3:30 p.m.; FOX)
When you're No. 1, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on No. 2. And speaking of a letdown after an emotional victory, BYU is not only coming off of a wild win over Notre Dame, but the Cougars are heading two time zones away to take on a UCF team that will be pushed by a raucous home crowd and has nothing to lose. I think BYU is going to survive this test, but it won't be easy, and it'll be worth watching after the Hurricanes take care of business against Pitt.
