Malik Reneau agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Orlando Magic after going undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Miami native enters the organization as a 6-foot-9, 238-pound forward coming off an All-ACC First Team season in which he led the Hurricanes with 18.9 points per game.

Reneau also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 54.0% from the field, 34.7% from 3-point range and 78.8% at the free-throw line. He started all 35 games for a Miami team that won 26 games and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

An Exhibit 10 deal brings him into Orlando's training-camp and offers the Magic the ability to convert his contract to a two-way deal before the regular season.

The stats that Magic fans should know

Reneau was one of the ACC's most reliable scorers during his only season at Miami.

He ranked fifth in the conference in scoring and field-goal percentage. His nine double-doubles were the fourth most in the ACC, and six came in games where he scored at least 20 points.

Reneau had 99 turnovers against 72 assists, so he will need to work on decision-making when he puts the ball on the floor against NBA athletes.

His best performances at Miami

Reneau's best individual game came in Miami's ACC opener against Pittsburgh. He scored a season-high 28 points on 8-of-13 shooting, made all 10 of his free throws and added eight rebounds in a 76-69 win.

He also played well in a road win over Florida State. Reneau finished with 23 points and a season-high 12 rebounds, including seven offensive boards.

  • He had 24 points, six rebounds and three steals in Miami's ACC Tournament quarterfinal win over No. 24 Louisville.
  • He led Miami with 24 points in its NCAA Tournament opening win over Missouri.

Malik Reneau's basketball background

He grew up in Miami and attended Montverde Academy, where he helped the Eagles win back-to-back High School National Championships in 2021 and 2022. Reneau was a consensus top-40 recruit in the 2022 class, ranked No. 22 by ESPN, No. 25 by Rivals and No. 38 by 247Sports.

He began his college career at Indiana, where he played 85 games across three seasons and earned All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition in 2024 and 2025.

Reneau broke out as a sophomore in 2023-24, averaging 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Hoosiers. He followed that with 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior before transferring home to Miami for his final college season.

What will Malik Reneau need to improve?

The biggest question is whether Reneau can turn his low-volume 3-point shooting into a consistent option for him in the NBA.

He made 34.7% of his 3-point attempts at Miami, which is a promising percentage. But he attempted only 75 3-pointers in 35 games. Orlando will want to see whether he can get his shot off and become a credible floor-spacing option.
