What a national college football writer loves about the 2025 Miami Hurricanes

Quarterback Carson Beck is the "One thing to love about every college football team ranked in way-too-early top 25 for 2025 season" for Miami per Cody Nagel of 247Sports. Beck is the No. 3 ranked transfer and top QB in the 2025 247Sports rankings.

Beck is a critical addition for Miami in 2025. Miami had a lot of uncertainty at QB entering the 2025 season with the departure of Cam Ward before Beck decided to transfer to Miami. Mario Cristobal and his staff have upgraded several positions entering the 2025 season.

For the third consecutive year, Miami will have a new center and QB combination. Center James Brockermeyer transferred from TCU. LSU transfer C.J. Daniels provides Miami with a No. 1 wide receiver. Miami lost its top six 2024 receivers.

Miami also made significant upgrades to its secondary. Four of the top 15 transfer cornerbacks, and Zechariah Poyser, the No. 2 safety in the portal, all transferred to Miami for the 2025 season. Defensive tackle David Blay provides experience after transferring in from Louisiana Tech.

Miami needs consistency from Beck. Beck had seven touchdowns and no interceptions in the first three games of the 2024 season, three TDs and three interceptions in Georgia's loss to Alabama followed by two TDs and no interceptions versus Auburn, followed by five TDs and no interceptions in the next four games.

Beck finished the season strong with 11 TDs and no interceptions over his final 3.5 games before getting hurt vs. Texas in the SEC Championship Game. Miami adding Beck to its 2025 roster significantly upgrades their projection entering the season. Beck brings experience and stability to Miami in 2025.
