Carson Beck is sixth on the "2026 NFL Draft preview: Ranking college football's top 10 quarterback prospects" by Brad Crawford of 247Sports. Beck transfered to Miami from Georgia, hoping to improve his draft stock similarly to how Cam Ward did during the 2024 season.
Crawford stated, "Cam Ward made the same decision this time last year and it resulted in Heisman finalist honors with the Hurricanes for the former Washington State star." Ward was initially projected as a second- or third-day selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. After a record-setting season with Miami, Ward became the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Beck has an opportunity to play in Shannon Dawson's modified Air Raid offense with Miami that should showcase his skills better than Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo did. Miami is projected to have a better offensive line and Georgia wide receivers struggled with drops in 2024.
Crawford lists Sam Levitt of Arizona State, Cade Klubnik of Clemson, Nico Iamaleava, who transferred to UCLA from Tennessee and Taylen Green of Arkansas behind Beck among the top 10 NFL QB prospects for 2026. Beck is one of three transfers in Crawford's top 10 2026 NFL QB prospects.

"6. Carson Beck, MiamiBrad Crawford, 247Sports
247Sports recruiting ranking: Four-star, No. 5 QB in 2020 cycle
There might not be a player in college football with more to prove next season than Carson Beck... Beck was no longer the right fit in the Bulldogs' pro-style scheme and his confidence was rattled in 2024 as a result. At Miami, he gets a chance to be one of the ACC's top passers alongside (Clemson's Cade) Klubnik and SMU's Kevin Jennings."
The five QB prospects Crawford ranks ahead of Beck are John Mateer, who transferred from Washington State to Oklahoma, Lanorris Sellers of South Carolina, Drew Allar of Penn State, Arch Manning of Texas and Garrett Nussmeier of LSU. As many as seven QBs are projected to be 2026 NFL first-round picks.
The six QBs selected in the 2024 NFL Draft set a record. Ward and Jaxon Dart,, who was selected 22nd overall by the New York Giants, were the only QBs selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Miami has never had QBs selected in the first round of consecutive NFL drafts.
