Xavier Restrepo and Cam Ward passed more milestones and set records at Syracuse
Despite the disappointing ending for Miami in the regular season loss at Syracuse, wide receiver Xavier Restrepo and quarterback Cam Ward continued to pass more milestones and set records for the Hurricanes in 2024. Ward finished the season with 293 completions in 435 attempts for a 67.4 completion percentage, 4,123 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, seven interceptions and averaged 343.6 passing yards per game.
The Miami single-season records for completions, pass attempts, completion percentage, passing yards and touchdowns, 200 games overall and consecutively, 300 and 400 yards games and total yards. Ward also set the all-time Miami record for completion percentage for a career.
Restrepo recorded his 200th career reception versus Syracuse and finished the regular season with 2,844 career receiving yards and 21 TDs. Restrepo holds the Miami career records for receptions and receiving yards. At the end of the regular season, Restrepo has 69 receptions for 1,127 yards and 11 TDs.
Restrepo's 2024 regular season is fourth all-time in single-season receptions, fourth only 45 yards behind Charleston Rambo for first all-time in a single season set in 2021 and two TDs behind Leonard Hankerson for first all-time in Miami history in a single-season. If Restrepo plays in a bowl game he can reach those records.
Ward just finished the most prolific season by a QB in Miami history. Restrepo will leave Miami as the most productive recevier in Hurricanes' history. Restrepo and Ward will be the two most difficult players for Miami to replace in 2025. Restrepo is a sure Miami Sports Hall of Famer and Ward should be despite playing only one season.
