Xavier Restrepo is eight receptions behind Mike Harley and 119 receiving yards behind Santana Moss for the all-time Miami receiving records. Restrepo has an excellent chance to reach both records on Saturday versus Duke. Restrepo is averaging 5.4 receptions and 88.8 yards per game in 2024.
The season highs in 2024 for Restrepo are seven receptions three times and 163 receiving yards versus California. Duke enters week 10 first in the ACC allowing 166.6 passing yards per game, a 104.92 passer rating, only seven passing TDs and 5.4 yards per attempt. Miami relied on its run versus Florida State.
Florida State took away the big play and limited Miami who averages 366.8 passing yards per game to a season-low 215 yards through the air. Restrepo finished with four receptions for a season-low 24 yards. North Carolina and SMU are the only teams to throw for over 200 yards versus Duke this season.
Roderick Daniels of SMU was the first receiver over 100 yards versus Duke in 2024 with two receptions for 153 yards on Saturday in a 28-27 overtime win. A.J. Henning of Northwestern and Malik Rutherford of Georgia Tech set the single-season highs of eight receptions versus Duke in 2024.
Restrepo is currently second all-time in Miami history with 174 receptions and third with 2,427 receiving yards. Restrepo has played in parts of five seasons. As a freshman in 2020 Restepo played in seven games and he missed five games during his junior season in 2022 because of a foot injury.
Restrepo has been healthy since 2022. In 2023 Restrepo set the Miami single-season record with 85 receptions. Restrepo will finish his Miami career as the most productive receiver in program history. Restrepo should leave Miami as the first receiver with over 200 career receptions and has the potential to top 3,000 yards.
