6’5-200 Lawrence Cager: Wide Receiver, Calvert Hall in Baltimore, Maryland
Rivals: 4 star
247sports: 4 star
ESPN: 4 star
Other Offers: Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and many more
Lawrence Cager was highly sought after by many teams for his size and ability to go up and get the ball. Cager’s 6’5 frame partnered with his 34 inch vertical and 4.5 forty make him a great down field threat. He can run by the DBs or just go right up over them to haul in a catch. Cager can also be the big redzone threat that the Canes have been missing over the last few years. Lawrence Cager’s athleticism doesn’t just stay on the football field. He has won multiple league titles in the high jump and cleared 6’8 at a competition this past season, which is one of the 20 highest jumps in the country this year. Just minutes after announcing his commitment to Miami during the 2nd quarter of the Army All American Game, Cager reentered the game and caught a 54 yard TD that he celebrated with some impressive dance moves. Lawrence Cager should be another great weapon for QB Brad Kaaya to utilize. Cager had nearly 600yds and 7TDs in his junior year, his senior stats have not been updated yet.

6’5-305 Tyler Gauthier: Offensive Lineman, Venice, Florida
Rivals: 3 star
247sports: 3 star
ESPN: 3 star
Other Offers: UCF, Toledo
Tyler Gauthier is one of the lower ranked prospects in this class and will likely redshirt due to depth on the offensive line. He is a large, very strong player that excels in run blocking. He doesn’t allow his defenders to get off blocks and is able to drive his opponent backwards due to his pure strength. Gauthier needs to work on his quickness and footwork to help improve his blocking ability in the passing game.
You can view his senior highlights here.
6’5-315 Jahair Jones: Offensive Lineman,(JUCO) ASA College in New York (Signed LOI, enrolls in January)
Rivals: 3 star
247sports: 3 star
ESPN: 3 star
Other Offers: Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Purdue
Jahair Jones is ranked as one of the top 75 JUCO players in the country and is a big get for the Canes. He is a very good offensive lineman and can see playing time very early. Jones is a JUCO transfer that will come in as a true sophomore. Jahair Jones is a complete offensive lineman that is a very good blocker in both the run game and the pass game. I interviewed Jones when he first committed in the middle of December, you can read that interview here.

6’7-281 Brendan Loftus: Offensive Lineman, Godby in Tallahassee
Rivals: 3 star
247sports: 3 star
ESPN: 3 star
Other Offers: Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Kentucky and more
Brendan Loftus has a good frame, but needs to try to add some weight without losing to much athleticism. He has a great punch, moves well, and also has that mean streak that you like to see in a lineman. Loftus does need on work on his quickness off the ball as some fast defensive ends have been able to get around him. Staying low off the ball will also help Loftus transition to the next level. He sometimes has a tendency to stand his 6’7 frame straight up and loses leverage when doing that. Loftus helped to lead his team to the state championship game where they lost to American Heritage.
You can view his senior highlights here.
6’6-280 Hayden Mahoney: Offensive Lineman, Malvern Pennsylvania
Rivals: 3 star
247sports: 3 star
ESPN: 3 star
Other Offers: Boston College, Akron
Much like Gauthier, Mahoney is a prospect that may redshirt to add weight and work on his quickness. Mahoney has good strength and uses leverage well, but needs to work on his overall athleticism. Mahoney played on the team USA football team where he improved greatly and also became good friends with fellow Miami commit Bar Milo. Mahoney even convinced his parents to pay for Bar Milo’s unofficial visit to Miami from California.
You can see Hayden Mahoney’s senior highlights here.
6’6-290 Bar Milo: Offensive Lineman, Chaminade California
Rivals: 4 star
247sports: 4 star
ESPN: 4 star
Other Offers: Nebraska, Washington, Arizona St. and many others
Bar Milo is the highest ranked lineman in this class and rightfully so. Milo has a great frame and is extremely athletic. His flexibility, size, and quickness are all part of what make him a great prospect. Bar Milo has all the tools to be very successful at the next level where he will be protecting his former teammate. Brad Kaaya was Milo’s high school teammate at Chaminade and has been a big part of Bar Milo’s recruitment.
You can check out some of his highlights here.
6’6-300 Tyree St. Louis: Offensive Lineman, IMG Academy
Rivals: 4 star
247sports: star
ESPN: 4 star
Other Offers: Florida, Tennessee, USC, and more
Tyree St. Louis was a very big get for the Canes and was long considered a UF lean early in his recruitment. St. Louis is one of the more athletic lineman that I’ve seen both live and on film. He is a good run blocker, but really excels in pass protection and has great feet and athleticism for a player of his size. St. Louis is very well polished and can definitely see the field early. I spoke with St. Louis prior to his senior season about his strengths and weaknesses, you can read that interview here.

5’10-185 Mark Walton: Running Back, Booker T. Washington
Rivals: 4 star
247sports: 4 star
ESPN: 4 star
Other Offers: Florida St., Georgia, Florida, and more
Mark Walton had a bit of a strange recruitment, he was a 2016 recruit that took extra summer classes and online classes to reclassify into 2015. Walton isn’t the fastest straight line runner, but he has great power, quickness, vision, and agility. It always takes multiple defenders to bring him down as he has incredible balance and a low center of gravity. One of Walton’s greatest assets is his ability to catch the ball out of backfield and rack up yards after the catch. Walton had a great senior campaign and put on a show in the state championship game. In Booker T.’s 54-35 state championship win, Walton had 89yds and 2TDs receiving to go along with another 184yds and 3TDs rushing.
You can view some of his highlights on his HUDL page here.
6’6-250 Jerome Washington: Tight End, Gattaca JUCO(Signed, enrolls in January, will still have 4 years to play)
Jerome Washington NJ.com
Rivals: 4 star
247sports: 4 star
ESPN: 4 star
*Rated as the top JUCO tight end by all three.
With Clive Walford leaving to the NFL, Standish Dobard will be the only TE on the roster with college experience. Getting the top JUCO tight end, Jerome Washington, is a huge deal for the Canes. Washington is very mature and is in his mid-twenties, but will still be able to play for four years. You can read more about his journey in my interview with him from when he committed a few weeks ago. Washington is a big, fast, physical target that can really thrive in Miami’s offense with a QB like Brad Kaaya. Washington is a tremendous blocker and pass catcher and can be an immediate weapon for this Miami offense,
You can see some of his JUCO highlights here.
This post will be continuously updated as commitments occur and more film and stats are released.
