Grace was all over the field on defense and playing lights-out with a total of 17 tackles (9 solo; 8 assisted) and a forced fumble.

Though Elder had 6 tackles (5 solo; 1 assisted) and a pass breakup on defense, it was his play as a specialist that earned him the honors. He returned the game-winning touchdown, which was part of the 91-yard, 8 lateral, miraculous kickoff return to beat Duke.

The ‘Canes defeated Duke in Durham, N.C., 30-27 on a last second play (kickoff return) considered both miraculous and controversial.
