Offensive Guards

Vernon Carey

Carey could play both guard and tackle and played at The U from 1999 to 2003. He’s a Miami boy through and through, playing high school football at Miami Northwestern, college football at well, Miami and professionally with, you guessed it, the Miami Dolphins.

At UM, Carey was listed at 6’5″ and 365 pounds … that’s a big boy.

He was a two-time Second-Team All-BIG EAST selection (2002 and 2003) and a Third-Team AP All-American.

Carey was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round (19th overall) and played with them for 8 seasons.

Dennis Harrah

Harrah played at Miami from 1972 to 1974 and considered one of the greatest offensive lineman to ever wear orange and green.

He was a consensus First-Team All-American in his senior season.

He was later drafted in the first round (11th overall) by the Los Angeles Rams in 1975 and played for 13 seasons. As a Ram, Harrah earned All-NFL status two-times, a six-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro.

Harrah was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
