As National Signing Day is nearing, becoming part of the Miami Hurricanes has a whole lot to offer.

If you’ve followed the Miami coaching staff as of recent, Mark Richt and company have been hard at work, traveling all around Florida (and outside) in order to recruit (and hopefully land) the nation’s top recruits.

Currently, the ‘Canes are sitting with the No. 15 ranked recruiting class in the country.

But, nothing is certain until National Signing Day comes around on Wednesday, February 3rd.

Most of us know that the state of Florida is considered some of the best grounds for football talent in the country. And it wasn’t until one former Miami head coach Howard Schnellenberger decided to put a fence around the South Florida region and consequently, the ‘Canes built championships throughout the years.

Nevertheless, in the past decade (more so than ever), recruits from South Florida (and within the entire state of Florida for that matter) have been getting poached from out of state schools such as: Ohio State and Alabama.

It’s one thing to compete with the Gators and the ‘Noles for in-state kids, but when these outside schools trespass and hijack Florida kids, well, it seems to just sting a little bit more.

Of course we’d like to see talented recruits represent their cities and states, but as Miami fans we also need to remember that Miami had built great teams with the help from some out-of-state studs.

Also, in the past 10 years or so, there really wasn’t anything to get excited about regarding the program (even with some really good recruiting classes from Al Golden and Randy Shannon).

But the past is the past and now, there’s a lot to be excited about.

Here’s 10 reasons why every college recruit should be excited to be a Miami Hurricane:
