Shockey came to Miami from Northeast Oklahoma A&M Junior College, which is ironically located in Miami, OK. He enrolled at the University of Miami as a Sophomore.

His first season as a Hurricane was in 2000. Shockey burst on to the national spotlight when he caught the game-winning touchdown against Florida State in a game that many mark as Miami’s return to greatness.

Shockey led the 2001 National Championship Hurricanes in receiving and was second in receiving yards and touchdowns, before foregoing his Senior year to enter the NFL draft.

He played ten years in the NFL with the Giants, Saints, and Panthers. Shockey finished his career with 547 receptions for 6,143 yards and 37 touchdowns. He was a part of the 2007 Giants Superbowl team that ended the Patriots undefeated season.
