After Alison’s departure, Rosier and his mobility are the presumable leaders in the clubhouse after the final round of spring. Except there is that one inescapable caveat to being the leader in the clubhouse.

Heralded dual-threat quarterback from Vanguard High School in Ocala, Florida N’kosi Perry is soon set to tee off. If Perry reprises the role of a red shirt wearing Tiger Woods on Sunday then its a wrap.

Perry had the distinction of being number one on Richt’s board. Rosier did not. Perry is one of Richt’s guys. Rosier was not.

It is no foregone conclusion that Perry can metamorphosis from incoming freshman to galvanized knight. If Perry stumbles I think Rosier will start the season as the starter for the Miami Hurricanes. It could be that simple.

2017 Player Impact Rating: Malik Rosier= 60%. You would figure that the starting quarterback would have an impact rating of above 90% but one ominous Perry variable remains. Rosier won the job out of spring but he did not win it unilaterally and unequivocally. He can thank Perry for that.

Whoever the Hurricane quarterback is, they have the comfort of relying on a very good defense. Miami’s defense won every scrimmage game this spring and did so in emphatic fashion. Hard to imagine a scenario where the defense doesn’t win you a few regular season games in 2017. So take heart Hurricane fans.
