By his second season Kennedy was second team All-Pro and in his third season, he was NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He earned the Defensive Player of the Year while playing on a 2-14 team. Kennedy was first-team All-Pro from 1992-94.

Kennedy played 12 seasons in the NFL. He retired after the 2000 season. ‘Tez finished his career with 668 tackles, 58 sacks and three interceptions.

Kennedy was named to the All-Decade team for the 1990s and played in eight Pro-Bowls. He was great despite not playing around other great players. The Seahawks advanced to just one playoff during his 11 seasons with Seattle.

Seattle lost in the Wildcard game following the 1999 season. Kennedy never knew what it felt like to play on a postseason winning team.

After his playing career, Kennedy spent some time advising New Orleans Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis. Kennedy knew Loomis from both of their days with the Seahawks.

Kennedy passed away in May 2017 at age 48. His cause of death was unknown.
