MIAMI, FL – JANUARY 28: Bruce Brown /

"“Whereas last year it was, ‘Ja’Quan is going to get into the lane and he’s going to score’ so everybody would collapse. This year I’m trying to make it where I get in the lane and I’m passing and hitting guys and finding guys so the game will come easier and I’ll be able to score, it’s going to be wide open.”"

The addition of Walker and maturation of Brown will take a lot of pressure off of Newton to be the team’s primary scorer. He shared that duty with Brown and Davon Reed last season. Early in the year, it was mainly Reed and Newton. He discussed the Miami Hurricanes balanced attack for 2017-18.

"“Definitely Bruce can score, Lonnie can score, Amp (Anthony Lawrence) can score, Chris Lykes—everybody can score…I’m not worried about my teammates or anything of not being able to score. Last year we were different. Bruce was younger and Dewan (Huell) was younger, they were freshmen.”"
