Fandom’s 250 Underrates the Miami Hurricanes fanbase

A-Rod was the celebrity guest picker on Game Day when the iconic ESPN show came to the Coral Gables campus for the first time. Miami has a lot of intangibles when it comes to why it’s fanbase should be considered.

The Hurricanes were also featured on GameDay for the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte. Miami Hurricanes Superfan Luther Campbell was the celebrity guest picker.

How many schools have a different mascot for different sports? Miami has Sebastian the Ibis for Football and basketball and the Miami Maniac for baseball. Add in the Mark Light Milkshakes and Miami has one of the most unique fanbases and atmospheres in the country.

Many of the schools on the list are the most important and popular entertainment value in the country. The Hurricanes have to compete with teams in all four major professional sports, year-round beautiful weather to be able to be outside and participate in recreational activities and sports and the pull of great nightlife that includes South Beach.

Mark Richt and Jim Larranaga continue to build their programs at Miami. The fanbases should continue to grow as programs do. The Miami fanbase will hopefully grow the recognition back to the days of the championship years. Then we can say the U is back.
