Which Miami Hurricanes have to a chance to step up in 2018?

The defensive line loses Harris, Chad Thomas and Andrew Moten, plus potentially Kendrick Norton and RJ McIntosh. Gerald Willis who took this season off will return inside. At best he backs up McIntosh and Norton inside, at worst he starts at defensive tackle should one or both leave for the NFL.

Delaney had a solid year during his one season with the Hurricanes. Miami brings back Freshman Trajan Bandy and Sophomore Malek Young. Michael Jackson is weighing his options before he decides if he is going to return for his Senior season. Miami also added cornerbacks Gilbert Frierson, Al Blades Jr and D.J. Ivey.

Some combination of the Freshmen is likely to make an impact next season. Bandy had arguably the biggest play of the Miami Hurricanes season. His pick-six just before halftime against Notre Dame blew the game wide open and sent Hard Rock Stadium into a frenzy.

Losing at elite kicker is not always an easy position to replace. Badgley is Miami’s all-time leading scorer and holds the record for the most field goals in school history. He fell two PATs short of tying the school record.

Miami brings in one of the best names ever for a kicker to replace him. Bubba Baxa is a three-star player from Pasadena, Texas. He will be the Hurricanes kicker for the next four seasons.

Another two players to watch could be redshirt Freshman N’Kosi Perry and incoming Freshman Jarren Wiliams at quarterback. Rosier is going to have to significantly improve his accuracy to hold them off.
