"Whereas Malik, we give a little bit more responsibility to. But at the same time, there are things that we have to do win that we are still learning how to do – as far as leadership and things that go along with just being an accurate passer.”"

It seems pretty clear that not only is Rosier clear the most prepared to be the quarterback this fall. The coaches would like him to be the one to win the job. Jon Richt spoke to the Palm Beach Post about Rosier being the leader in the huddle and the possibility of Rosier being beaten out as the starting quarterback.

"“Until somebody takes it over, he is the man…He knows that. He’s trying to act accordingly. I say that, but you know, he’s got to come out and be the man. … We’re trying to get him to be the man.”…He’s got to be a better version of himself…but he doesn’t necessarily need to become someone else.”"

Rosier will almost definitely be the quarterback when Miami takes the field at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the opener against LSU September 2. The bigger question is will he remain the starting quarterback all season.

If and when Rosier struggles this season the Richts and Brown will have better alternatives to make a change at quarterback than they did last season. That alone should motivate Rosier to play better.
