Miami Hurricanes QB Malik Rosier self grade in Spring game
He later spoke about his performance in the Spring Game and what he needs to work on.
"“There was some good. There was a lot of bad…The biggest thing was the point of attack. Our defense was more physical than us all across the board. The second-biggest thing coach Richt has been harping on has been deep balls. I missed Lawrence Cager twice. Missed Darrell Langham once. Those are shots we’ve got to make, and put the ball up where those guys can make a play.”"
The offensive line has struggled all Spring. Richt has mentioned that getting continuity on the offensive will be critical to its future success. Rosier agreed, saying that giving the line time to jell as a cohesive unit will:
"“Make the biggest difference…a perfect horseshoe, no one’s around me…with a little bit of miscommunication. I think if you give them the summer and the fall (camp), they’re going to be ready to go.”"
In his second season, Rosier should be able to make better decisions and become more accurate. The part of the Miami Hurricanes fanbase that has vilified Rosier is not looking at the big picture. There have been plenty of other reasons that the Hurricanes struggled at the end of last season.
Next: Miami Hurricanes fans need to accept Malik Rosier as QB
The Hurricanes are going to need more consistency from the offensive line and the running game and to stay healthy to close out the season in 2018. The losses of Ahmmon Richards, Chris Herndon IV and Mark Walton robbed Rosier of his three best playmakers. Miami lacked the depth of the elite teams nationally to be able to overcome that.
