Jones has a lot bigger task in trying to lead his team to victories, but that has to be figured into the equation for Rosier and the Miami Hurricanes quarterbacks. Rosier led Miami on game-winning drives in the fourth quarter to defeat Syracuse and Florida State. He also led Miami to 42 points in the second half, 28 in the fourth quarter to defeat Toledo.

Francois would seem to be the favorite going into the 2018 season for Florida State. His numbers were significantly better than Blackman’s were last season. Francois’ 2016 numbers were not significantly better than Rosier’s were last season. Francois threw for nearly 200 more yards, but Rosier ran for nearly 300 more.

The biggest difference between Rosier and Francois was interception rate. Rosier’s was less than two to one, while Francois’ was nearly three to one. Blackman’s was slightly lower than Rosier’s but had nearly 1,500 less of total offense.

Miami should be at least a spot higher. Jones will need to return to his 2016, which is what Athlon is banking on. Behind Jones, the Blue Devils are unproven at quarterback. With Florida State, a lot depends on who the starter is. If Miami is going to move up in these rankings, Rosier, as Athlon pointed out, needs to take better care of the ball.
