Miami and Penn State have played 13 times. The Nittany Lions have won seven of those games. They have only met once in a bowl game. That is a game Hurricanes fans would like to forget. Penn State defeated Miami 14-7 in the 1987 Fiesta Bowl. The Nittany Lions won the 1986 National Championship as a result of the win.

Miami won the last meeting 33-7 in their 2001 National Championship season. The Hurricanes have won three of the last four and five of the last eight meetings with Penn State. The Nittany Lions had a four-game winning streak between 1967 and 1977 after Miami won the first game between the schools in 1961.

Miami and Central Florida have only played twice. The Hurricanes won both game of a home and home series in 2008 and ’09. The Knights enter 2018 with the nation’s longest winning streak at 13.

Miami has won all four times they have played Michigan State. The teams last met when the Hurricanes earned a 26-20 victory in East Lansing. The other three games were in Miami. They have not played in a bowl game.
