Miami football: how quarterbacks are rated

Garcia is the highest-rated quarterback on the Miami football roster. The 247 Sports rating for Garcia when he signed with Miami was 0.9761. Van Dyke earned a 0.9173 and Brown is .9080. Van Dyke is one of the leading returning QBs in college football in 2022. Van Dyke had 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2021.

Garcia was 11 of 14 for 147 yards, two TDs and no interceptions in his lone appearance in 2021 against Central Connecticut State. Garcia later suffered a season-ending injury. Brown, Garcia and Van Dyke all bring different skill sets to Miami at QB. Brown could be the first true dual-threat QB Miami signed out of high school.

Ratings of Miami running backs

Miami surprised most college football analysts when they signed running back Trevonte’ Citizen on National Signing Day. The Hurricanes beat out several high-profile SEC schools to sign Citizen. Citizen is the highest-rated RB on the Miami roster at 0.9550. Miami also added former Mississippi RB Henry Parrish.

Parrish received a 0.9162 rating when he signed with the Rebels in 2020. Behind Citizen, the highest-rated RB on the Miami roster is returning starter Jaylan Knighton at 0.9530. Don Chaney Jr. received a rating of 0.9497 when he signed in 2020. Miami 2021 signees Cody Brown and Thad Franklin ratings are below the above.

Brown is rated at 0.9134 and Franklin 0.9098. Miami lost Cam’Ron Harris early to the NFL Draft. Harris missed a significant portion of the 2022 season after suffering a knee injury. Gattis and new RBs coach Kevin Smith will have a lot of options for the Miami offense in the 2022 season.
