The NFL Mockdraft Database has Tyrique Stevenson as the 70th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders own the 70th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Brad Weiss of Canes Warning’s Raiders’ partner site Just Blog Baby named Stevenson in “2023 NFL Draft: Day 2 cornerbacks the Raiders should target.”

The Raiders need help in the secondary. Las Vegas finished 29th in yards, 19th in TDs allowed and 31st in interceptions last season. In a separate post, Weiss has Las Vegas selecting Michigan CB D.J. Turner. The NFL Mock Draft database has Turner as the 51st projected pick. Turner dropping 19 spots would be significant.

The NFL.Com profile for Stevenson likes the versatility he brings to be able to play outside or in the slot. Stevenson has been praised for his ability in man coverages but questioned for too many busts in a zone. Most projections expect Stevenson to develop into an NFL starter but acknowledge he might be scheme dependent.

NFL.Com ranks Stevenson as the 17th CB on the 2023 NFL Draft Board. At 6’0, 214 pounds, NFL scouts like the size and ability to strike that Stevenson provides at CB. Some projections have theorized that Stevenson could play safety in certain defensive systems. Stevenson transferred to Miami to play more outside CB.
