The Miami Hurricanes football program received a commitment from four-star tight end Elija Lofton, is trending for multiple five-star prospects and six players are taking official visits in Coral Gables this weekend. June is commitment, official visit and recruiting season across college football.

Lofton is the 11th commit to the 2024 Miami football class. Miami moves up to the 23rd-ranked class nationally and third in the ACC per the On3 rankings. Lofton becomes the second highest-rated 2024 Miami commit after four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson. Lofton is another Miami player from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.

Lofton is the 330th prospect nationally, the 21st TE and the top player in Nevada in the 2024 class. The Miami Hurricanes previously had TE Brevin Jordan, safety Bubba Bolden and quarterback Tate Martell on its roster from Bishop Gorman. Lofton will join what should be a deep 2024 TE unit for Miami.

The 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong likes where Miami stands recruiting five-star defensive linemen, Aydin Breland, Dylan Stewart, Colin Simmons, and David Stone and four-star DL L.J. McCray. The comments were made earlier this week on his 247 Sports show The Wiltfong Whip Around.

The

de-commitment by four-star offensive lineman Deryc Plazz

from Penn State on Thursday could position Miami in his recruitment. Plazz is taking an official visit to Miami this weekend. North Carolina State is expected to be the main competitor with Miami for Plazz. The Wolfpack will host Plazz next weekend.

Five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott, four-star prospects, running back Kevin Riley, edge rusher Elias Rudolph and DL Jayden Jackson, plus three-star German OL Moritz Schmoranzer are visiting Miami this weekend. The five official visitors this weekend is the smallest group Miami will host this June.

Five-star WR Joshisa Trader told On3 that he is not going to take any official visits until the fall. Trader stated that his mom is unable to take any visits with him in June. Miami is currently leading for a commitment from Trader according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Miami will likely receive an official visit from Trader.
