The Miami Hurricanes football team is one week away from its 2023 season opener versus Miami (Ohio). Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports wrote “Aspring doctor, five-star recruit, David Stone is ready to tackle his college decision.” Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke was named to a pair of watch lists this week.

The Miami Hurricanes football team will conduct one more practice in training camp before beginning preparation for Miami (Ohio) next week. Mario Cristobal and the coaching staff will begin to finalize the depth chart before installing the game plan for Miami (Ohio). Several positions still appear to be open.

Most projections favor Oklahoma for a commitment from Stone. Miami and Michigan State are still involved for a potential commitment from Stone. Stone and his mother Elika Osagie have said all the right things about Miami. Stone is intrigued about the possibility of being coached by Jason Taylor.

David Lake of Inside the U wrote about “Miami’s game-by-game win probabilities, according to the ESPN Football Power Index.” The ESPN FPI projects Miami as the favorite in seven of its 12 2023 games. Miami is favored in four of its first five games. The FPI gives Miami a 49 percent chance to defeat Texas A&M.

In addition to being named to the 2023 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Watch List, Van Dyke is also on the Watch List for the National Comeback Player of the Year. Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo was also named to the Comeback Player of the Year watch list. Arroyo and Van Dyke could be ready for resurgent seasons.

The Miami basketball team released its full non-conference schedule on Thursday including November 28 at Kentucky. Many of those games had already been released. Games versus other Power Conference programs are Central Florida, Colorado, Georgia and Kansas State or Providence.

Miami will begin the regular season versus the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The games versus Georgia and Kansas State or Providence are part of the Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship. Kentucky is in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge and Colorado is the NABC Brooklyn Showcase in Brooklyn on December 10.
