Miami quarterback Carson Beck is one of the most polarizing prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft after an up-and-down college career, but he's expected to find his next home come Day 2. Once believed to be a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the former Georgia signal-caller ultimately chose to delay his pro career to pursue an additional college season at Miami under head coach Mario Cristobal.

Beck finished out that season with a completion rate of 72.4%, passing for 3,813 yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Between four seasons at Georgia and a lone year with the Hurricanes, the Florida native connected on 69.5% of his passing attempts for 11,725 yards with 88 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. Going into the NFL, there are some attractive traits Beck has, but also some area for concern.

While Beck has shown flashes of upside and has played with consistency over long stretches, he's also shown a tendency to mentally crumble at the worst possible times. That included against Alabama when Georgia forged a comeback from a 28-0 deficit, only to ultimately fall one point short in a 41-34 loss. Many blamed that on Beck's late interception. Then in the national title game against Indiana this past season, a pick in double-coverage ended all hope for the Canes. With that said, he's still got a rocket for an arm and a team would be wise to grab him early in Day 2 of the draft.

I spoke with Beck on what he feels he brings to the table, and he characterized himself as a pocket passer who could run when called upon.

"I'm not the most gifted runner in the world, I think we all know that," Beck told me. "But being able to extend plays and make plays is a great value to add (in the NFL). I'm not Lamar Jackson, I won't go get you 50, but I'll get you 10."

Here's a look into three places Beck could take his talent to in the 2026 NFL Draft with the second round coming soon:

3. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have been in the conversation regarding the quarterback position in practically every facet possible. That includes the NFL Draft and the possibility of signing a new signal-caller already in the league during the offseason.

So, Beck, and quite frankly a lot of other names, could be considered in that discussion. Some have pinned him to be taken at No. 34 by Arizona, while others find that to be a bit too early to take Beck. There's also the thought Beck may still be available when Arizona picks again at No. 65 in the third round, and that it would be more appropriate to take him at that point.

If Beck is selected by Arizona, he'll join a room that currently includes journeymen Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett.

2. Miami Dolphins

Well, Beck may not have to move after all. In this scenario, he remains right in the city he finished his college career in with a chance to get things right again in Hard Rock Stadium after an unceremonious ending.

It'd be a good move for the Dolphins to bring in a player like Beck, who may have much more potential than Malik Willis, who Miami signed in free agency. Willis is a player who can only be described as drafted way too early who never expanded beyond his "traits" and who could not ever add true accuracy to the mix in his game.

The Dolphins should proceed with caution with a player who has made only six NFL starts over four seasons. Beck would bring the perfect competition for him.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

What does the future look like for the long-term at quarterback for Pittsburgh? Man, if that isn't the question of the hour. No one is quite sure what's going to happen with a 43-year-old Aaron Rodgers heading into the twilight days.

Pittsburgh does have Mason Rudolph in the fold, but the team needs to start seriously thinking about and prioritizing Rodgers' future successor. The Steelers have displayed a lot of interest in Beck throughout the pre-draft process, and have held several meetings with the former Bulldog/Cane.

Kicking the tires on Beck could be a wise idea.
