Defensive back Keionte Scott, defensive tackle David Blay and wide receiver Tony Johnson are the only key players for Miami listed as out on the Friday Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update. Miami listed cornerback O.J. Frederique and wide receiver Joshua Moore as game-time decisions.

Blay has played through an injury for a few weeks. Frederique has missed the last three games against SMU, Syracuse and North Carolina State with an upper extremity injury. Moore had two receptions for 56 yards against NC State last week.

Miami at Virginia Tech Injury Report

Moore was added to the injury list on Friday after not appearing on the initial one on Thursday versus Virginia Tech. Miami WR C.J. Daniels is not on the injured list after missing the games against SMU, Syracuse and North Carolina State. Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. is also expected to play after missing the last two games.

There are 14 Virginia Tech players listed as out on the game day student-athlete availability reporting update. Most of the Virginia Tech players on the injury list are not on the seasonal participation report for Virginia Tech or have minimal production during the 2025 season.

Key players out for Virginia Tech are safety Quentin Reddish, out since starting the first three games in 2025 and starting offensive lineman Montavious Cunningham. Virginia Tech safety Isaiah Cash is the only player listed as a game-time decision for the Hokies.

Cash is a key player on the Virginia Tech defense with 35 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one interception and one pass defended. Cash would be a big loss for a Virginia Tech defense that is eighth in the ACC, allowing 218.0 passing yards per game.

Miami has far more depth than Virginia Tech and enters the game healthier on Saturday. The Hurricanes should be able to dictate play and wear down a somewhat depleted roster for the Hokies. Miami is the healthiest it has been in weeks.
