Miami already has one of the hottest 2027 recruiting classes in the country, but the Hurricanes are not close to finished. Official visit season is opening with a loaded weekend in Coral Gables, and this is the kind of stretch where Mario Cristobal's class can jump even higher than No. 4.
Miami enters the weekend with 15 commitments, the No. 4 class nationally and the No. 1 class in the ACC. The Hurricanes already have five-star talent committed at quarterback, wide receiver, cornerback, linebacker and defensive line. Now the focus turns to the next wave.
Miami has 4 major 2027 targets to watch as official visits begin
Not every visitor is equally likely to commit right away. Some recruitments will stretch deeper into June. Others could move quickly if Miami closes the weekend the right way. These are four 2027 targets who could give the Hurricanes another commitment or flip as soon as this weekend.
Eli Woodard, WR
Eli Woodard is a name to watch on the board. The four-star wide receiver from Chaparral in Temecula, California, decommitted from USC earlier this month and quickly became one of Miami's biggest 2027 targets. He is on campus this weekend, and the Hurricanes have a real chance to close.
Woodard is ranked No. 169 nationally, No. 25 among wide receivers and No. 16 in California in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Miami already has five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear committed, so the Canes aren't desperate at the WR position. But it would give Miami one of the best receiver groups in the 2027 class of Woodard commits.
DeMarco Jenkins, DL
DeMarco Jenkins is recruitment that could move fast if the visit goes well. The four-star defensive lineman from Pearland, Texas, is expected to announce his commitment soon. And Miami defensive tackles coach Damione Lewis gives the Hurricanes a Texas connection in this battle.
Jenkins is ranked No. 378 nationally, No. 41 among defensive linemen and No. 48 in Texas in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He would give Miami another interior defensive line piece in a class that already includes Ezekiel Ayangbile and Josh Johnson.
SMU has been viewed as the favorite, but at least Miami has him on campus right before the finish line.
Jaiden Bryant, EDGE
Jaiden Bryant would be the biggest news of the weekend if he were to commit... and he might just flip.
The five-star EDGE from Irmo, South Carolina, is committed to LSU, so this one comes with a different level of difficulty. That said, Bryant seems to be enjoying his time in Coral Gables. Now, that information shouldn't be taken to heart, but it is an interesting development that deserves a mention on this list.
Bryant is ranked No. 29 nationally, No. 4 among EDGE prospects and No. 1 in South Carolina in the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Noah Glover, LB
Noah Glover is the linebacker to watch in Miami's group that is visiting. He is a four-star linebacker from Battlefield in Haymarket, Virginia.
Miami has already landed AJ Randle Jr., but the staff is pushing for multiple linebackers, including Glover and Kaden Henderson.
Glover is ranked No. 199 nationally, No. 19 among linebackers and No. 3 in Virginia in the Rivals Industry Ranking. Miami is sitting near the top of his Recruiting Prediction Machine, just behind Georgia.
