Vance Spafford has emerged from Mission Viejo High School in Tustin, California, as one of the nation’s most electrifying slot receivers in the 2026 class. Standing at 5’11″ and weighing 175 pounds, Spafford is a four-star prospect and has been a verbal commit to Georgia since November 2024. But, despite being committed to one of the elite programs in the nation, he's kept his options open and has drawn significant attention from schools across the country.

Recently, the Georgia wide receiver commit canceled his scheduled official visit to the University of Miami. Miami had flipped other Georgia targets, like CB Jontavius Wyman, and was surely working on trying to do that again. Spafford was originally scheduled to visit this weekend beginning on June 20.

Spafford has been timed at 4.35-second 40-yard dash and clocked a personal-best 10.69 in the 100-meter dash, along with a 22.14-second 200m time. At the Under Armour Future 50 camp, he claimed the “Fastest Man” challenge.

Over his varsity career, Spafford has recorded 141 receptions for 2,610 yards, for an average of 18.5 yards per catch, and tallied 36 touchdowns. He posted 83 receptions for 1,576 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore, and added 57 catches for 1,017 yards and 14 scores in his junior campaign. Spafford is the No. 74 player in the nation, No. 10 WR in the country, and No. 10 player in California, according to On3.

Spafford may be on his way to shutting down his recruitment as Miami was not the only school to continue to show interest in him after he committed to Georgia. After official visits to Colorado, Washington, UCLA and USC, Spafford made his way down to Athens on June 13 for an official visit and that seemed to do the trick. Miami will need to put their efforts into other WR's in 2026.
